Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made a surprise trip to Florida to meet with Donald Trump, in the wake of the U.S. president-elect's threat to impose a 25 per cent tariff on all Canadian goods entering the U.

President-elect Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met Friday night at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home to discuss U.S.-Canada relations, as Trump threatens to impose hefty tariffs on both Canada and Mexico.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Saturday he had an “excellent conversation” with Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago club after the president-elect’s threat to impose significant tariffs on two of America’s leading trade partners raised alarms in Ottawa and Mexico City.
