THE meeting of 58-year-old Mike Tyson (who should never box again) and 27-year-old Jake Paul (who needs to stop picking on old guys) got all the hype and the majority of the attention, but once again Katie Taylor showcased her warrior heart in another pulsating battle against Amanda Serrano in Texas.

Taylor, 38, retained the undisputed lightweight titles against Serrano, 36, at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in 2022. She won a split decision that night, before winning the rematch via unanimous decision to retain the undisputed super-lightweight belts – at Dallas’s AT&T Stadium, in the co-main event of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson.

The second fight saw Taylor get wobbled early and Serrano get badly cut but ultimately the Irish star won the fight with a score of 95-94 on all three cards, Speaking on The Fight, former trainer turned analyst Teddy Atlas reflected on the first match between the two.

It makes it 2-0 to Taylor, who first beat the Puerto Rican great at Madison Square Garden back in 2022 – another result that was thoroughly debated. Speaking to Seconds Out immediately after the rematch, Claressa Shields said that she felt the result for Ireland’s Taylor was a fair one.
