The Southeastern Conference received another shake-up on Saturday after Florida stunned Ole Miss 24-17. Texas football still controls its own destiny, but Florida's win should open up some more margin for error if things don't go according to plan.

AUSTIN, Texas — Not much went right for Florida football in its first game against Texas since 1940. The No. 5 Longhorns pummeled the Florida Gators, 49-17, handing UF its worst loss in three seasons under head coach Billy Napier.

The blowout loss comes just days after Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin announced that third-year coach Billy Napier will remain the Gators’ head coach. Napier’s job security has been subject to heavy speculation after he went 11-14 in his first two seasons and started 1-2 this year. He’s now 15-19 at Florida.
