A new storm strengthening just off the Northwest coast could bring additional damage to the region following a historically strong bomb cyclone. It’s also adding another jolt of energy to an atmospheric river.

A bomb cyclone, or a severe winter storm, has hit the Pacific Northwest, bringing heavy rain and winds to northern California, Oregon and Washington.
